I meant to be at the station today for a final GD Hours program, but I won't be able to. I have graduated from RPI and left Troy to return to my home in Connecticut. The June 26 "Steal Your Face" show was therefore my last as host.
It was a pleasure serving up Grateful Dead music for you folks in the Capital Region. It's great to have live Dead on the radio as just one way of keeping the tradition alive.
Keep in mind that former WRPI Dead show host Steve still does a program called "Shakedown Street" on WVBR in Ithaca. You can stream it online Saturdays 10-11 PM at www.wvbr.com.
Hopefully someone at WRPI will take up the show in the future, though right now there is no host lined up. You can expect to hear Harmando and Gary Goldberg play some Dead sporadically. Stay tuned!
